| Extreme Challenges The challenges will only be one day a month, to be announced each month. Members will be emailed (or called, if needed) each time there is a new extreme challenge. Participants should look forward to a competitive fitness experience using some of natures own greatest obstacles: the lake, sand, desert, and the surrounding mountains. Prepare to get wet, muddy, hot, and exhilarated! Survivor-like team, individual, and partner competitions will be part of the regimen. Just be prepared for anything! The Next Extreme Challenge: "Rescue On The Snow" January 23rd, 2010 1:00 PM The next extreme challenge is January 23rd, 1pm, at Mount Charleston and will be the event to remember in 2010. It is one of only 2 team challenges that we've ever hosted...meaning that every class is a team, and every person in every class is needed on the team. This challenge will be slow, grueling, and the winning team will basically be the one with the most heart. This has nothing to do with how new you are to boot camp, or how in shape you are. This is about going one step further up a snow covered mountain carrying 115 lbs in a stretcher than the team next to you. The more campers you have on your team, the more likely you are to go the furthest. You can do this! I don't want to hear you say you aren't in shape enough to do this challenge. Your team needs you. The snow, the incline of the hill, and the elevation will make it virtually impossible for the teams to run during this challenge. At best, it will be a torturous trot. If all you do is keep up with your team and help guide them over the fallen logs and navigate through the snow, you will be an asset. Needed for the challenge: To prepare you for the challenge, you will either need snow boots or (my preference) you can put bread bags over your socks and just wear your athletic shoes you wear to boot camp. This is actually more flexible, and comfortable...just double or triple up your socks! You will also need gloves, workout pants or snow pants, something over your ears, and a neck warmer. Each team will have a team color (same as the last challenge) and will have the option to purchase a warm beanie in their team color with the rhino on it to represent their team, and separate their team from the others. Did I mention the best part? (Well, besides the cannot-be-described-in-words exhilaration that comes from completing a Boot Camp Las Vegas Extreme Challenge) After the challenge, we are all going to go to the nearby lodge for hot chocolate (or something stronger) and relax while excitedly sharing our extreme challenge experiences. Many boot campers will be staying the night at the lodge afterward, for reservation information go to http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=21172627&msgid=423535&act=O306&c= 265804&admin=0&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mtcharlestonresort.com% 2F We rarely repeat challenges, and this is seriously going to be the best one yet. Mark your calendar, and decide that you are going to take up the challenge and help your team. I will be sending another email with more specific instructions soon. Directions to challenge: Take 95 North to Mount Charleston turn off and go left towards Mount Charleston. We will be parking in the first parking lot on the left right past the Mount Charleston Resort. If there is no parking left there, you can turn into the play area. The challenge is donations only, no donation required. If you want to donate, normal donations are around $25. If you are not in a class or don't have a regular instructor, give us a call and we will assign you a team. Everyone is welcome! |
